| 日本における高等教育機関の工学教育プログラムの審査認定制度確立に向けて、JABEE（Japan Accreditation Board of Engineering Education）が平成11年11月に発足して以来、日本鉄鋼協会は材料分野の中核としてJABEEの活動に協力するためISIJ/JABEE委員会を設置し、認定基準、審査方法、審査員の養成等について検討しております。

| I. 分野別要件
―材料および材料関連分野― この設定要件は、材料および材料に関連する分野の技術者教育プログラムに適用される。なお、材料および材料関連分野とは、金属材料、無機材料（含セラミックス、ガラス等）、有機材料（含ポリマー、プラスチックス等）、複合材料、半導体材料等を含み、かつそれぞれの材料の製造、加工、応用を含む広範囲な材料に関係する分野を指す。 |
| １．修得すべき知識・能力
本プログラム修了者は、以下に示す能力を身につけていることが必要である。 （1）材料の構造・性質に関する基本の理解
（2）材料のプロセスに関する基本の理解
（3）材料の機能および設計・利用に関する基本の理解
（4）実験の計画・実行およびデータ解析の能力
なお、上記教育内容（1）、（2）、（3）について各々100時間以上、（1）、（2）、（3）の合計400時間以上、（4）について200時間以上の学習・教育時間を含むこと。 |
| ２．教員
教員団は、プログラムの設定目標実現に要求される本分野の関係する教育内容に関して教える能力を有する教員で組織されていること PROGRAM CRITERIA FOR MATERIALS, METALLURGICAL AND SIMILARLY NAMED ENGINEERING PROGRAMS These program criteria apply to engineering programs including "materials," "metallurgical," and similar modifiers in their titles. All programs in the material related areas share these criteria, including programs with wide-ranging materials (metals, non-organic materials including ceramics, glasses, etc., organic materials including polymers, plastics etc., composite materials, and semi-conducting materials), and the production, manufacturing and application of these materials, and their related fields. |
| １．Curriculum
The program must demonstrate that graduates have the abilities on the following items. （1）Fundamental understanding of materials structure and materials properties.
（2）Fundamental understanding materials processing.
（3）Fundamental understanding of materials performance, materials designs and materials selection.
（4）Fundamental understanding of experiment planning, experiment plactice and data analysis.
As the minimum contact time, 100 hours for each of the item (1), (2) and (3), 200 hours for the item (4) and 400 hours for the total of the item (1), (2) and (3) are required. |
| ２. Faculty
The program faculty should consist of member qualified to teach the relevant courses that are required in order to achieve the objectives of the program. |
