Call for paper ISIJ International Special issue on "Recent Progress of Science & Technologies for the Iron Ore Agglomeration Process" to be published in September 2013

The world steel production has rapidly increased depending on the according economic conditions. Although the latest economic stagnation and the results of COP17 give difficulties to see the future view, continuous reduction of CO2 emission will be expected for the iron & steel industry considering a concern that use of fossil fuels will be increased due to the nuclear accident. Therefore, developments of energy-saving technologies and utilization technologies of carbon-neutral bonding agents are effective subjects, which directly lead to the reduction of CO2 emission from iron & steel industry, because effective recovery of waste heats are not easy in the sintering process. On the other hand, improvement of the sintering technology to produce high quality burdens for the blast furnace operations with a low RAR is also an important subject.
Under such a background, papers by general authors as well as the members of the ISIJ research project "Technological Principle for Low-Carbon Sintering" are invited to contribute to this special issue. Wide range of researches, which can be bases of a new technology/process or a process improvement and also a technical development of the process operation for property control, improvements of energy efficiency and productivity and so forth are welcome to contribute the issue.
The deadline for the submission of manuscripts is January 25, 2013. Manuscripts should be sent to the Editorial Group of ISIJ shown below in a style consistent with the "authors guide" of ISIJ International. Authors wishing to submit review papers should contact to the following chief editor:
