The 193rd ISIJ Spring Meeting

International Organized Sessions

The ISIJ will hold the international organized sessions during the 193rd meeting to meet the necessity of globalization in the science and technology of iron, steel and other materials. In this session, the official language is English. The ISIJ welcomes participants from Japan and abroad to present papers at the International Organized Sessions focusing on current topics. All abstracts of presentations are published as Current Advances of Materials and Processes (CAMP-ISIJ), Vol.40 (2027) No.1.

International Organized Session Topics:

Session A: Recent developments in sensing, control and systems in the steel industry
Chairpersons: H.Suwa(Setsunan Univ.), T.Koshihara(JFE), Y.Nishizawa(JFE), K.Hirano(Nippon Steel), T.Imoto(Kobe Steel)

Driven by rapid advances in digital technologies, the steel industry is accelerating digital transformation (DX) across all manufacturing processes. In this context, our international session highlights the latest practical applications in measurement, control, and systems. We will explore cutting-edge technologies and discuss future directions for technological development in these fields.

Session B: Modeling and characterization in steel and other metallic materials
Chairpersons: H-W. Park (Komatsu Univ.), T. Makiyama (IOT), K. Yoshida (Shizuoka Univ.), K. Hayakawa (Shizuoka Univ.)

This international session reviews recent progress in the characterization and modeling of steel and other metallic materials, consistent with the aims of shaping and quality engineering: imparting desired shape, dimensional accuracy, microstructure, and properties through manufacturing processes. Representative themes include ductile fracture, deformation behavior and microstructure evolution during hot working, and tube forming. Across these topics, the session emphasizes the linkage among process conditions, material response, microstructure evolution, and ultimately product performance. Keynote lectures from overseas speakers, together with presentations from Japanese researchers, will provide a forum to share insights from experimental characterization, modeling, and simulation, and to discuss advances in understanding, design, and applications in materials processing.
